Juvéderm®

Restore Facial Volume & Enhance Facial Contour

Hyaluronic acid and collagen are essential for smooth, resilient, and well-supported skin that looks youthful and plump. The amount of these substances found in the skin diminishes with aging, leading to a loss of volume and elasticity. This can cause the gradual development of facial creases and a shift in facial contours, creating a tired, aged-looking appearance.

JUVÉDERM® Treatments In Los Angeles

At The Med Spa at The Practice in Los Angeles, our skilled injectors use Juvederm, an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler, to provide a “liquid facelift” that smooths the skin and restores a youthful appearance. Juvederm injectable gel is also ideal for achieving subtle, natural-looking lip enhancement.

The ease of treatments, consistent results, and anti-aging benefits have made Juvederm the top-selling filler collection in the world. The Juvederm family of injectable fillers uses patented formulations with molecules of different weights cross-linked to create a stable gel that binds to water for improved hydration. This variety allows our master injectors to select the filler that is specifically designed for your area of concern.

What Can JUVEDERM Treat?

There are five different fillers in the collection made by Allergan: Juvederm Voluma XC®, Juvederm Ultra XC®, Voluma®, Volbella®, and Juvederm Vollure™. Our trained and experienced injectors focus on tailoring each session to the patient. During your consultation, the injector will explore your beauty goals with you and suggest personalized options to rejuvenate the areas you’d like to enhance. This customized approach is key to achieving a look that is beautiful, natural, and long-lasting. There are three main areas Juvederm fillers address:

CHEEKS

With collagen loss comes flattened or hollowed cheeks. This loss of defined contours in the midface also translates into less structural support for facial tissues, which migrate downward and create jawline-softening jowls. Voluma restores the midface contours, replacing previously lost volume with results lasting up to two years.

LIPS

Some people are born with naturally thin lips. Others have full lips that thin out as time robs them of collagen and hyaluronic acid. Juvederm Ultra XC and Volbella are ideal for subtle lip augmentation that lasts up to a year. Depending on your aesthetic goals, subtle enhancement or full enhancement is possible. These fillers can also address “lipstick lines,” which are the vertical lip lines around the mouth.

FACIAL LINES

As skin ages, lines often form in areas like around the nose and mouth. Juvederm XC and Vollure are designed to “fill in” moderate to severe facial wrinkles and creases, such as nasolabial folds (commonly known as smile lines), providing a smoother appearance that can last up to 12 to 18 months, respectively.

What Do JUVEDERM Treatments Entail?

Although Juvederm injections are often described as small pinches, the various formulas contain lidocaine, a numbing agent. This anesthetic reduces sensitivity in the treatment area for a more comfortable session.

The total number of injections and the length of the appointment, will depend on the areas being treated, the degree of treatment desired, and other factors. Generally, the sessions are brief, taking only the time of a typical “lunch hour.”

JUVÉDERM Recovery & Results

There is no downtime after Juvederm treatments; however patients can expect common side effects such as mild swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection site for a short period after treatment. Once these temporary issues resolve, the resulting smooth skin, lifted contours, and enhanced lips will be visible. We advise all our patients to avoid blood-thinning agents like Ibuprofen and Aspirin for ten days before their treatment to avoid excessive bruising.
