This 40-year-old patient from Calabasas, CA tested positive for BRCA gene mutation and elected to undergo a prophylactic mastectomy with reconstruction. Dr. Cassileth performed direct-to-implant breast reconstruction using 275 cc silicone implants. She also performed nerve grafting in order to preserve the patient’s sensation in her breasts.
