Look Refreshed With A Minimally Invasive Forehead Lift In Beverly Hills

As we age, skin on the forehead and around the eyes loses elasticity and eyebrows begin to droop. This often results in people thinking you look tired or angry when you aren’t. At Cassileth Plastic Surgery, we believe that you deserve to look as good as you feel. A brow lift, sometimes called a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure to correct signs of aging in the forehead, upper eyelids, and eyebrows. Brow lift surgery can address deep lines and excess skin on the forehead, sagging brows, and upper eyelid hooding to achieve beautifully refreshed arches and a youthful look.

Benefits of Brow Lift Surgery

Brow lift surgery can:

  • Tighten skin and smooth away wrinkles on the forehead
  • Lift eyebrows for a more relaxed, bright-eyed look
  • Reduce the appearance of frown lines, furrows, and crow’s feet
  • Provide a naturally youthful appearance with minimal downtime and long-lasting results

Types of Brow Lift Surgery

Endoscopic Brow Lift

At Cassileth Plastic Surgery, we recommend an endoscopic approach for most brow lift patients because it is less invasive. Endoscopic forehead lift surgery offers the benefits of traditional brow lift surgery with smaller incisions and a shorter recovery time. Two small incisions are made on the scalp, about one inch into the hairline, and an endoscope is used to assist in lifting the forehead skin. Tiny dissolvable implants called Endotines are used to stabilize the muscles and skin in the new, refreshed position.

Temporal Brow Lift

A temporal lift (often considered a mini brow lift) is best suited for patients who are looking to enhance and lift the tail end of their eyebrows and the temple area. Small incisions are made near each temple. This type of brow lift is often combined with blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a mini facelift.

Coronal Brow Lift

A traditional brow lift uses a coronal approach, in which a long incision is made in a headband-type pattern on the top of the head, behind the hairline. While an endoscopic brow lift is usually the best choice for most patients, some patients who are seeking a significant change may benefit from a coronal lift, as well as those with very high foreheads or high hairlines.

Gliding Brow Lift

A gliding brow lift is a minimally invasive technique that involves making small incisions, often hidden within the hairline, through which the surgeon inserts an endoscope to provide a clear view of the underlying structures. Using specialized instruments, the surgeon then carefully releases the soft tissues from the underlying muscle and glides them to a higher position. The tissues are anchored in their new location, effectively lifting the brows and smoothing out forehead wrinkles. This can be a good option for patients with a heavy brow or hooded eyes.

What to Expect From Your Brow Lift Surgery

Preparing for Your Brow Lift

Your consultation appointment is your opportunity to meet with a facial plastic surgeon and learn about your options for brow lift surgery and any other cosmetic procedures that can help you reach your aesthetic goals. Your surgeon will discuss your desired results, review your medical history, and examine you to determine if you are a candidate for brow lift surgery. If you decide that a brow or forehead lift is right for you, they will create a personalized treatment plan and give you detailed pre-surgical instructions.

Your Brow Lift Procedure

Brow lift surgery is an outpatient procedure and the type of sedation used can vary depending on your treatment plan. Patients typically receive general anesthesia, although local anesthesia may occasionally be used for less invasive brow lift techniques. The surgical process will vary depending on the type of brow lift you have chosen. Your surgeon will begin by making the appropriate incision and will then lift the skin and recontour the underlying tissue before using sutures to close the incisions.

Recovery After Brow Lift Surgery

Your recovery experience will depend on the type of brow lift you have, as well as factors such as your age and overall health. Your surgeon will advise you to sleep in an inclined position and to avoid strenuous activity for a period of time. In general, endoscopic brow lift patients can expect to resume most day-to-day activities 1 week after surgery. Your surgeon will advise you on pain medication if needed and other post-operative details.

Brow Lift Results

At Cassileth Plastic Surgery, we take many factors into account in order to give you a customized treatment and surgical experience. We will consider all your facial features, the thickness, texture, and elasticity of your skin, and your bone structure to ensure that your results are beautiful and natural-looking. Brow lift results are long-lasting and your surgeon will advise you on an aesthetic routine to maintain and optimize your results for years to come, which may include BOTOX, fillers and skin care recommendations.
