Radiofrequency depth
Energy is delivered below the surface, where collagen is produced, rather than only at the skin surface.
Recovery service
Morpheus8 is radiofrequency microneedling. Fine needles deliver radiofrequency energy below the skin surface to tighten tissue and improve the appearance of scars. It is used later in recovery, once incisions have healed.
Overview
Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy. The needles create controlled micro-injuries while delivering heat into the deeper layer of skin. The body responds by producing new collagen, which firms and smooths tissue over the following months.
In a recovery context it has two uses: refining skin laxity that surgery alone does not address, and improving the texture and color of maturing scars. It is not a substitute for surgery. It refines a result that surgery has already established.
Timing matters. It is used well after the incision has closed and the early healing phase is complete, typically six weeks or more post-op, on the surgeon’s clearance.
How it works
Energy is delivered below the surface, where collagen is produced, rather than only at the skin surface.
Controlled injury and heat prompt the skin to rebuild over the following months.
Applied to maturing scars, it can improve texture and how a scar blends with surrounding skin.
Change develops over weeks as new collagen forms, not immediately.
When it's used
Used once incisions are fully closed and cleared by the surgeon, generally six weeks post-op or later.
Usually a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart.
Addresses laxity and scar appearance after the surgical result has settled.
Who it's for
Patients whose recovery is complete and who want to refine skin texture, mild laxity, or scar appearance. It is not part of early recovery.
Every aftercare service is coordinated directly between your surgeon and your recovery providers. Nothing is handed off, and nothing is added without a reason specific to your case.
