An angel must have guided me to Dr. Cassileth and her remarkable team at Cassileth Plastic Surgery. Indeed, Dr. Cassileth performed a miracle. Several months ago, I noticed a lump above my left breast. A mammogram showed a ruptured left breast implant. After consulting with surgeons in my home state of Hawaii and the Mainland about implant removals, I was still unable to find a surgeon with whom I felt a personal connection. When I contacted Dr. Cassileth in Beverly Hills, I immediately felt welcomed, understood, and connected. Dr. Cassileth explained the implant removal process to me clearly, and with confidence that she could take care of me. I cannot express in words how reassured I felt to have such a competent, highly experienced surgeon take on my case which I knew would be complicated due to the migration of the silicone into my chest, underarm, and lymph nodes. The surgical procedure, which is called an en bloc capsulectomy, was performed on both breasts (the right breast implant had a capsular contracture and needed to be removed, as well). Carolee and McKenzie, the aftercare specialists, came to my hotel room to check on me. Fallon, Dr. Cassileth's patient coordinator, was my guiding light throughout the entire process. I felt very little pain afterwards and, in fact, no pain after the second day. Dr. Cassileth told me that my surgery was one of the most complicated she has performed in her entire practice, but all went well and she was pleased with the outcome. I am pleased and relieved! I am deeply grateful to Dr. Cassileth, Fallon, Star, Carolee, McKenzie, and all the others who helped me through the surgery. I can’t give enough praises for the work Dr. Cassileth and her entire team performed on me from the initial phone consult to the aftercare. I’d like to start by prefacing that I am a breast cancer survivor, diagnosed and treated at 42, and have had multiple surgeries including a bilateral mastectomy, DIEP flap reconstruction on one side and a LAT flap on the other. I had an implant on the LAT flap side and was having severe BII symptoms. After going through chemo, radiation, multiple surgeries, and then realizing all the symptoms I was having from the breast implant, I was just done. I wanted the implant out and to have no more surgeries. The doctor that did my flap surgeries and who is considered one of the “best” in the industry, didn’t believe in Breast Implant Illness and told me he could remove my implant, but that I would be totally deformed. I wasn’t ok with that answer, so I started getting consultations. I had 4 consults with doctors across the United States that specialized in BII and explanting. I was complicated though, and knew I had to find the best. Through much research, prayer, and consideration, after having a final consult with Dr. Cassileth, I knew she was the one! At first, I wondered if she was overconfident because none of the other doctors were even considering doing what she was willing to do! Dr. Cassileth is confident in her ability for good reason!!! She is able to do exactly what she says she is going to do!!! I was able to communicate what was going on with my body and what I was hoping we could fix, and she was able to tell me exactly how she was going to repair me in ONE surgery, not 2, 3, or more like the other doctors wanted to do. For the first time in 6 years, I feel like I am back to normal. Dr. Cassileth removed the implant and capsule on my LAT side, removed the capsule that was left behind on my DIEP side, placed my pec muscles back to an anatomically correct position, removed the excess muscle from my LAT side that was causing me immobility and swelling, created a nipple, injected me with PRP and fat in order to improve the radiated areas and bring back cellular function, fixed the dog ears and put me back together. I had no side effects from the anesthesia in which I have had a terrible time coming out of anesthesia multiple times prior. Carollee and her team of nurses took the very BEST care of me! The rash on my face was cleared up in less than a week. I have movement and range of motion back. I look normal and without deformity. I feel better than I have in years and couldn’t be happier. My husband and daughter are very concerned with my medical treatment and have very high standards of care, and both were and are extremely happy with Dr. Cassileth and the work she performed!!! I love my lip filler and Botox by Aubrey Mench! I like a very natural look for myself and got half a syringe of filler in 2020 but the injector I saw then did not sufficiently numb me. I told everybody I was on vacation for two weeks and I didn’t see my recovery. After everyone started making the comments. I told him that I had my eyes done. And then I hated the bubbles on the bottom of my eyes and the hanging tissue above my eyes. That is no longer there. And Dr. Omar Hussain then recommended PRP treatments and a very light laser, which I also did. And my skin is so much better. I am so grateful. I want to thank Dr. Cassileth, Carrolee, Sanda and Mckenzie for all of their kind assistance. Dr. Cassileth is a surgical and aesthetic genius! She skillfully lifted and reconstructed my breasts so that I feel like I am 25 again! She is also very kind and reassuring! My recovery has been almost painless. I have been able to manage any discomfort with a little bit of ice or at worst, a little bit of ibuprofen. Two days after my surgery, I really didn't need any pain meds. When my bandages were removed 5 days after surgery, I was afraid to look at my breasts. However, they told me it was ok. I was so pleasantly pleased and surprised at how beautiful they were! They looked better than before my surgery! I shouldn't have been surprised because I knew that Dr. Cassileth is at the top in her field, but this was something very new to me. Carrolee was so caring and reviewed all information prior to the procedure. This gave me peace of mind and calmed my anxiety. Sanda stayed with me post-op and assisted me with everything from caring for the incision sites, positioning for comfort and general reassurance post-op. She is such a lovely, caring person! In May of 2022, I underwent an elective double mastectomy with reconstruction, and in February of 2023 I had a fat graft and mastoplexy to complete my reconstruction. Dr Cassileth was my plastic surgeon and I’m here to tell you that she is an artist! By facing being a high risk for breast cancer, I’ve come out the other side with that risk reduced to as close to 0% as one can be and I have beautiful breasts. Through Dr Cassileth’s state of the art methods, we preserved my nipples and she performed a nerve graft so I maintained sensation. My end result would rival any statue of Venus. Honestly, after my fat graft I cried with joy when I saw how beautiful she made me look. It doesn’t end there, she took the fat from my inner knee and outer thigh, not only do I have lovely breasts, I know have elongated legs. I could not be happier with the results and the care of her entire team! For both surgeries I stayed with their aftercare team. I love the welcoming environment of this facility. From the moment I walked through the doors I was warmly welcomed. Dr Cassileth is friendly, caring ,very knowledgable and advanced in her field. She answered all of my questions and explained in detail how she would do my breast reduction (I to a DD), liposuction on abs and upper back. She had no problem with me showing pictures of what I would like. After surgery I opted to stay at Palladium aftercare where I received amazing 24 hour nursing care and a chef.
